Design of Bathhouse

Bath House

Design

University of Oregon

Eugene Oregon

During my second studio in freshman year, the project centered on designing a bathhouse within a designated site, adhering to specific square footage and criteria for the facility. This marked my initial foray into working on a designated building, presenting an exciting challenge to conceptualize a larger spatial layout and its interconnectedness. Embracing a hands-on approach, I primarily utilized manual techniques for my work, preferring hand-drawn sections and floor plans.

My creative process involved employing Photoshop to delve deeper into the ambiance and aesthetics of individual rooms, aiding in visualizing the desired feeling for each space. This project was an engaging learning curve, navigating the intricacies of operating within a new spatial context while meeting specific aesthetic criteria. In my hand-rendered drawings, I incorporated charcoal as my primary medium, complemented by precise pen line work, encapsulating the envisioned design with a tactile and artistic touch.
